A day in a life of Reeti – come and meet the life behind her lovely smile

Day3 – Covering a local train journey of 1 hour we reached kalyan. A slum in the out skirts of mumbai. After walking for around half an hour and asking a dozen of people we finally met a balwadi teacher who took us to Reeti’s home.

Reeti  suffered from a fit a year ago and still is waiting to get treated and go to school (To know about inclusive education click on post on saliha) -

Reeti has a big and lovely family, she loves to watch TV and have her mother around her all the time. She enjoyes playing with her colony friends who also visit her place to watch TV with her. She is an amazing singer and loves to accessorize herself …

And yes when i left reeti’s place all the kids gave me a superb hi – five which doubled my energy levels forever..

A Day in a Life of “Srikant” – Come feel the magic of what it is to give love

Day 2 - My energy levels were already double after meeting the vibrant saliha, time for a photo shoot with the second star, “SRIKANT”. After a one and a half hour journey  we met a volunteer at bhandup station who took us to srikant’s place.

A family of four, living in a 8X10 room, the surrounding rooms occupied by relatives and  a lovely neighborhood. Srikant is a school drop out, one day he just ran back home from school and school authorities said they can’t take him.  He is a normal child with a slight difficulty in mind usage patterns. He loves to watch television and is a fan of all the cartoon charters. He is adored and loved by all his cousins but he loves and adores him mother and his little cousin the most. Guess why?

Time is the best gift you can give to your loved once and srikant knows this best. Srikant’s best friends are his Mom and his little cousin, who take out all the time in the world to be with him and listen to his thoughts, ideas, suggestions, play with him, dance with him and give him all the love possible .

Srikant listens to no one accept his mother and his little cousin.  Everybody asked him through different conversational patterns to write or draw something in the notebook, do a little dance but he was least bothered. Only when his little cousine sat next ot him, he wrote on his slate and when she danced with him he dance too and that too happily.

Look what love just did to this little one.

Even this little one, in a crowd of many can feel the essence of love as love comes to those who believe it and give it.
